John ElkinsBetter known as Big Fish John on the river, he has 45 years experience as a fly fisherman. John enjoys tying his own flys, leaders, building his rods and hand nets. He feels the more he puts into it, the more enjoyment he gets out of it when a fish is landed.After leaving the military in 1995, John and his wife moved back to Mio and what he has always considered his primary fly fishing spot, The Big Waters of the Au Sable River. Although content fishing streamers and nymphs, John's passion is Dry Fly Fishing. His specialty is hunting down and catching 20" plus trout during emerging duns and spinner falls. |

Christine ElkinsChris began fly fishing during the mid 80's to spend more time with John. She has been a guide on the Au Sable River for 8 seasons now and fly fished this river exclusively for 13 years on a daily basis. In her spare time she raises and sells German Shorthaired Pointer Pups. |
